Frogmouth at Sunset

$200.00

Once, on a lucky evening in Cremorne, NSW, we spied a frogmouth sitting on an electric wire. It was sunset and the frogmouth seemed perfectly content to be out in the open. None of his favorite hiding trees were around. Such an unusual and fortunate event as Frogmouths weren’t common that close to the city and that far from water. Worth capturing.

This painting has been done on rice paper in multiple stages using wax as a resist. Once completed, the wax is removed and the work is sprayed with matt spray and affixed to a paper board. Finally, acrylic gloss medium is applied to the front to seal it.

Watercolour on rice paper affixed to mat board.

Frame size: 45 x 32 cm. Black kucite frame, no glass. The artwork has been sprayed with Micador Matte Spray on the front and back and the front has been lacquered with Liquitex acrylic medium to make it water resistant.
